Cookies Policy

PictureTheWinCompetitions Ltd · Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains how picturethewincompetitions.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies, including local storage and session storage, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and similar technologies do

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. Local storage keeps information on this device across visits; session storage usually lasts for a browser tab. PECR applies to storing or accessing information on your device, not just to traditional cookies.

2. Essential cookies and storage

We use necessary storage to securely maintain authentication sessions, remember ticket quantity selections in your shopping cart, retain a selected coupon, resume an active checkout game and remember your cookie choice. These functions support services you request and are not used for advertising.

Ticket allocations are protected by server-side database transactions and concurrency row locks. Row locks are not cookies, do not store anything on your device and cannot be switched off through cookie settings.

Essential storage used by this website
StoragePurposeLifetime

Saved couponKeep the coupon you select for checkout.Until used, replaced or cleared.
Checkout game sessionResume confirmed ticket reveals in this tab.Until completed, cleared or the tab session ends.
Cookie choice (ptw-cookie-consent-v1)Record your accept/reject choice, policy version and time.Until changed or browser storage is cleared.

We also remember choices you request, such as dismissing repeat notices or muting seasonal music. These preferences remain until changed or cleared; tab-only notices reset when the tab session ends. They are not used to track you for advertising.

3. Optional analytical cookies

Analytical cookies, if enabled, would help measure website traffic and understand how visitors arrive, including through organic invitations from our Facebook group. No optional analytics cookies, Facebook/Meta advertising pixels or third-party analytics trackers are currently implemented by this site. Accepting does not install an analytics service.

Any future non-essential analytics must remain disabled unless you actively consent. Before a new tracker is introduced, this policy must identify its provider, cookie or storage names, purposes and durations, and a fresh choice must be requested if its purposes change. Visiting this site does not authorize tracking by Facebook; activity on Facebook is governed by Facebook’s own settings and privacy policy.

4. Your choice and withdrawing consent

Choose “Accept & Play” to allow optional analytics described in this policy, or “Reject optional” to use essential storage only. Both choices let you browse and use the service. Continuing to browse, signing in or buying tickets is not consent to optional cookies.

Your choice is remembered in this browser on this device, not across all your accounts or devices. You can change or withdraw it at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer or the button below. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Clearing storage or switching browsers may show the banner again. If your browser blocks storage, we may not be able to remember your choice.

5. Browser controls and personal information

You can delete cookies and site storage or block them through your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may sign you out or prevent the basket and checkout from working. When information is personal data, we process it under the lawful bases and safeguards described in our Privacy Policy; optional analytics that require consent will not be activated without it. Operational server logs are separate from cookies and are covered by that policy.
